Peer Review on Personal Finance

First of all, I would like to thank Pod 5 for bringing us a very interesting course. In this course, pod 5 uses test methods such as recording, video, text, and quizzes, and the course content is also very connected. At the same time, I think the topic selection of such a course, which is Personal Finance, is also very useful. Next, let me share some of my personal views on the Pod 5 course.

Identify components of the Interactive Learning Resource that might be missing

Generally speaking, this project is a very good project, but I found that Pod 5 can make a lot of progress in many places. The content of this course is very nice, but the connection of the course is missing a little bit. I think it is very important that the course distributes what to learn every week. However, the Pod 5 course did not clearly tell me what to learn every week and the content of the quiz. I believe that a good course should divide the complex content into small goals, and finally let students take each small goal as the premise, step by step toward final success.

Provide a summary of The Interactive Learning Resource’s strengths and weaknesses. Draw out specific examples from your peers’ work to justify your feedback.

Strengths: I think Pod 5 brings very rich course content to students, such as audio, video, articles, quiz, and so on. And I really like the Check Your Understanding part of the Pod 5 course, where I can do a lot of interesting little quizzes which can help me understand the course.

Weakness: Maybe it’s just my personal problem. When I was doing the quiz on Pod 5, I found that I didn’t understand some topics or concepts very well. In this case, I hope that there will be a discussion group in the course, which allows students and teachers to communicate immediately and freely discuss their understanding of the course content.

Provide general, specific, and practical recommendations to your peers on how to improve their Interactive Learning Resources.

Overall I like this course, but as I mentioned earlier, the content of this course is very detailed, and you can also test your understanding by doing quiz after learning. But I think it is best to add best before which day to finish to each part of the content. This way students can gauge their own progress in the course and have an idea of what I’m going to learn and what I’m going to do this week. At the same time, I hope to add a discussion group to the course content so that students can post to the group immediately when they have questions, and then some classmates with a clearer understanding may help them. In this way, teachers can also know which concepts or issues students have some miss understanding on.

BLOG 4 Interaction

This video is from YouTube and talks about how to turn a group of strangers into a team. The author of the video goes through 3 main ideal which is teamwork on the fly, 24/7 fast-paced global operations, and situational humility.

This video is about Business school professor Amy Edmondson sharing how to build a great “team”. where people come together quickly (and often temporarily) to solve new, urgent, or unusual problems. And professor Amy Edmondson brought a very good example about an incredible rescue of 33 miners trapped half a mile underground in Chile in 2010. In this great rescue, the biggest reason people survived was situational humility. And in the team, respect and trust your teammates, stay humble, and don’t start being arrogant just because you think you know, because it’s hard to learn if you already know. Also, remember “It’s awfully hard to team if you inadvertently see others as competitors.”

After watching this video, I believe that for a great team, it is important to maintain humility and show mutual respect and understanding, because only in this way our team can become stronger. At the beginning of the establishment of a group, each of us is a stranger to the other, but a humble attitude and mutual understanding and respect can help each member to let go of their inner prejudices and help everyone in need. In this case, The next team that works together to achieve a common vision is born.

This video asks students to interact with each other not as competitors but as friends who help each other with patience and kindness. I believe students can respond to this video by taking notes or adding time to the group activity. After watching this video, students should be able to treat each member of the team with the greatest kindness which gonna improves the efficiency of teamwork. I believe this video can change many students’ attitudes toward team members and help students become successful team members.

Inclusive Design Block 3

Inclusive Design is a very important point for educators because everyone has their own free will and weaknesses, so people individualize the teaching approach to each person’s aptitude, personality, and interest. I like it very much in Inclusive Learning Design The “selective attention test” mentioned, is a good example of which people inadvertently ignore important things. Therefore inclusive design must be present in a competent curriculum, not only because inclusive design recognizes that everyone is a learner and every learner is entitled to excellence and achievement but also ensures that the environment, materials, tasks, and Assessments are well-matched to the learners who will use them, reducing learner barriers and collectively providing help.

How interactive learning resources will ensure the needs of all learners are met?

To be honest, how to meet the interactive resource needs of all learners is a very complicated issue, because in order to achieve this condition, it is necessary to individualize the teaching approach to each person’s aptitude, personality, and interest. Therefore, I think I will provide several options for Learners to choose by themselves. Of course, learners can also propose the learning methods and resources they want, which will be decided by everyone’s vote, and I will provide different evaluation forms according to the working mode of each learning group, so as to satisfy every learner as much as possible needs and make the curriculum more equitable.

Countermeasures against accidents

My courses are online courses, so I cannot help students solve problems and troubles face-to-face like in offline courses. Therefore, I think not only traditional software like Brightspace and ZOOM should be used, but also functions such as Google Docs, speech recognition, translation, screen recording and online interaction with tutors should be used to help students with specific needs, and students with social phobia must be Use typing to communicate, and for non-native-speaking students, add subtitles in multiple languages to the course videos to help you choose etc.

What potential barriers are reduced or eliminated to provide more pathways for learners to succeed?

By freely choosing the quiz time in class, the inconvenience of students’ time can be eliminated, and students can choose their ideal learning methods and evaluation standards through communication with me. In short, learners can get a more reasonable grade . I know that many students will be overly nervous or even fearful in the face of exams and dueday, so I want to eliminate the proportion of dueday homework in the course which means all due homework accounts for 0% of the course, and I will allow it for exams Students try twice, the highest score is taken, and the timing of the exam is completely flexible, such as any time during the week.
